Short-horned Lizard
Known as "horned toads," these critters are not toads at all but true lizards (one of two species that inhabit my neck of the woods). It took me about two weeks of off and on "sneaking" before I finally found this fella at peace. His favorite food: ants. Latin name: Phrynosoma douglasii
